Moses was a Hebrew prophet, teacher, and leader who lived from the 14th century BCE to the 13th century BCE. In the 13th century BCE (before the Common Era, or BC), he freed his people from slavery in Egypt. He started the faith group known as Israel at the ceremony of the Covenant on Mt. Sinai, where the Ten Commandments were given out.
He organized the community's religious and civil customs because he was in charge of figuring out what these Covenant rules meant. In the Jewish religion, he is seen as the most important prophet and teacher. In Western Christianity, Judaism has also been called Mosaism, which means "the faith of Moses."
His importance will never fade because he had a lasting impact on the religious life, moral issues, and social ethics of Western society.
