Recognizing God's Voice Among Many

Recognizing God's voice is a matter of aligning with the character and teachings of Jesus Christ as presented in the Gospel. The voice of God will never contradict the commandments and principles found within the pages of the Bible. As John 10:27 states, 'My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me,' indicating that there is a recognizable quality to God's guidance that is familiar to those who know Him. The fruits of the Spirit, as listed in Galatians 5:22-23, including love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, serve as evidence of God's voice in our lives. When messages bear these fruits, it is likely they are from God. Consistency in the messages we receive, and seeking confirmation through multiple sources, such as prayer, Scripture, and the counsel of fellow believers, can provide further assurance that we are hearing from God (1 Corinthians 14:33).
