Let’s be honest, life doesn’t always go the way we plan. One moment things feel fine, and the next, everything’s flipped upside down. Maybe you're dealing with a tough situation right now, or maybe you're just trying to make sense of all the chaos in the world. Either way, you've probably heard someone say, “God is in control.”
But what does that actually mean? Is it just something Christians say to feel better? Or is there real hope behind those words?
For me, the truth of God's control became undeniable during a time of deep personal pain. In late 2018, I hit a low point in my life. Despite achieving material success, I was feeling lost and spiritually empty. It was in this season of suffering that God began to reveal a profound truth: true peace doesn’t come from what we achieve, but from knowing who we are and why we’re here. This realization led to the creation of Bible Chat.
Believing that God is in control means trusting that He sees what we can’t, knows what we don’t, and works even when we don’t understand how. It doesn’t mean life will be perfect or pain-free. It means we’re not alone in the mess. Read more to find the encouragement you need to trust Him fully, especially when life feels out of control.
"For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts." - Isaiah 55:8-9 (NKJV)
This verse highlights the idea that God's understanding and control go beyond our comprehension, which ties well with the message of trusting Him even when things seem out of our control.
This article is all about digging into that idea, looking at what the Bible says, how God’s control shows up in everyday life, and how we can learn to let go a little and trust Him a lot more. If you're feeling overwhelmed or just in need of some peace, you’re not alone and you’re in the right place.
